Blog Rules and Guidelines

For those of you who regularly visit/participate in this blog you’ll notice it has undergone a major remodel.   Gone are the posts, discussions, photos (well, almost all) and polls related to politics and religion.  Those are two hot-button issues that can really stir things up so I’ve created two separate blogs for them.   This rugworld blog will now focus primarily on rug industry members and the issues that they currently face.  I will occasionally toss in my observations about NYC, Vegas, California and hillbilly country.

I feel that there is very little need for rules and guidelines as long as people act in a mature manner and exercise common sense.   You will notice that “veteran” commentators will have their comments appear immediately when they submit them while newbies must have their comments reviewed and approved by the Admin (me).   Once they prove they are responsible adults,  I’ll just flip a switch, make them “veterans”  and all their future comments will go straight to the posts when they click the submit button.

As for profanity:  Let’s keep it to a minimum.  I know that when discussing politics, for example, I can get so wound up that I’ll throw out an f-bomb or two, but when it comes to all things rugs, I think we can all express our emotions without going over the top with the cursing.

One non-negotiable rule:  NO ANONYMOUS COMMENTS OR POSTS!  I have absolutely no respect for people that make comments while hiding behind the cloak of anonymity.  That is reserved for whistle-blowers, snitches, blackmailers, whoremongers, etc.  If you don’t want to use your full name then at least give your first name.  By the way, no email addresses will be displayed.

FULL DISCLOSURE:  My blog is not affiliated in any way, shape or form with any company or person.    One beautiful thing about being a retired old man is that I can tell it like it is and not have to worry about whose nose gets out of joint.  I don’t take advertising so I’m not influenced by or beholden to anyone.  I’m not pimping any particular piece of software or web site, not a disgruntled ex- employee,  not on anyone’s payroll and not looking for a job.   I got my start as a stock boy for the Macys West Las Vegas Homestore and happened to develop a passion for rugs. End of story.
